I’m back from another long trip (7 weeks) in Africa after leading two great Wild Rainbow Safaris, one to Tanzania and the other to South Africa and Zimbabwe. I was invited by EcoTraining to instruct an EcoQuest course, teaching students about life in the bush. I was then honored to assist brother and sister team Claire and Rob Janisch on their Biomicry course.

I learned so much from my guests, my experiences on safari, and from Africa once again. After so many years, there is always something new and exciting to learn!

I’m looking forward to now concentrating on the States-side of Wild Rainbow as we attend the 13th Annual International Conference on Gay and Lesbian Tourism, hold the 2012 Birthday Reunion, and attend and sponsor events throughout the holiday season. Looking forward to seeing you all again, talking about my favorite subject “Africa”, and looking forward to January and my return to my second home in South Africa.

I just put my Cool Cats Safari guests on their homeward flights. What a wonderful trip to Tanzania, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. The dry season is at its peak, so a consequence was a true bonus for my guests as we witnessed quite possibly the highest number of lions I’ve ever seen. Large prides of lions hunting together, and even an attack on a water buffalo in the crater in the midst of our lunch area. One of our guests is planning on submitting her photos to the National Geographic Society contest this year, as we were also privy to a high concentration of birds alongside grassing wildebeast and hippo. Every season, every safari, is unique. This is what makes Africa such a great location to visit again, and again.
